Government Polytechnic College, Ganderbal was established in 2012 under Centrally Sponsored Scheme "Setting up of new Polytechnics" by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, with the aim of having polytechnics in every district of Jammu & Kashmir State. The institution is administered by the J&K Department of Skill Development and affiliated to J&K Board of Technical Education.
Govt. Polytechnic College Ganderbal through various innovative modes of teaching and learning processes serves the State of Jammu and Kashmir in providing need based, motivated and dedicated technical manpower with latest Technical and communication skills. The institute produces individuals who can facilitate the creation of an Eco-friendly industrial base in otherwise industrially backward Valley of Kashmir.
